I am almost complete with my grisaille underpainting. I should have been done earlier but I am a slow painter and want it to look realistic. I think I am doing a pretty good job with the values. I try and take a step back from the painting and look it at as a whole. There needs to be some changes to it still, because I need it to be where there are no brushstrokes and only shapes. I have learned a lot from this process, specifically to be patient and look at the piece as all in gray scale to really capture form. I hope to finish the piece soon and then move onto glazing.
