My goals for this piece were to scrape away paint from the canvas and have variety of shape size. For this piece, I wanted to keep a clear color scheme, so I chose two main colors and experimented with changing their values. I worked with a palette knife, not just to apply paint but also to scrape away layers, revealing texture and depth. This technique has helped me create movement and contrast, and I plan to build on that texture even more. I’m not done yet, but I’m staying focused on my goals, and I’m excited to see how the painting ends up looking.
