This is my post recent process post for my still life oil painting. This is the finished piece and I am happy with the result because of how long I spent on it. I added the color over top the underpainting and then when back and did some direct painting. I did most of the direct painting on the skull because the form of it needed improvement. The underpainting looked much different earlier and I am happy to say that after working on the painting more it looks more realistic. I have learned that value and form is where I need practice because this painting could be further resolved with more work on it. Over the summer I plan to work on this and continuously practice drawing with shape and value. I really enjoyed this project because it showed me what I needed to work on. I like realistic painting and drawings because of the final product and I think if I were to fine tune those skills I could create another improved painting.
