Home Project Post #20

For my home project I am doing an abstract painting. Last year I really liked focusing my drawings on music and songs that I enjoy. For this project I want to capture the emotion and the vibe of a song by listening to it over and over while making the painting. I like a lot of different music, but for this I chose deja vu by Olivia Rodrigo. I want the painting to almost be literal in a sense by printing out the sheet music and collaging it into the painting, writing the lyrics down, and printing out little figure of her from the music video and creating some sort of pattern with this. I have yet to start painting by choosing a song that I believed was worth capturing was really difficult. I have a color scheme in mind as well: pink, white, blues, and greens. I hope to build layers and layers of the painting which similarly relates to the layers that this song has.
