Figure Drawing Blog Post #31

Had a really great time at the figure drawing seminar this year. I got to draw with a figure artist, who shared so many tips and tricks that helped. We focused on gestures, contour drawing, and shadowing, really diving into the details of the figure. This year, I found myself taking more time to really observe the model, studying the way the body moves, how the light hits different surfaces, and trying to capture that movement and energy in my sketches. I can see a lot of improvement from last year: my lines feel more confident, my proportions are better, and my shading gives more depth. I felt that this years figure drawing was a nice challenge, but it was also fun.
